I believe selling is a critical skill to success in life. As such, I’ve made a living teaching others how to sell and increase their revenue. But can you believe I hated sales in the beginning? This is how I went from despising my profession to loving it… 

As a young man going through college, I had five sales jobs. And I was miserable at all of them.

Sales was something I considered temporary. As a result, I either quit or was fired from those positions. 

However, when I was 25, I found myself in a tough situation where sales was my only lifeline… 

From Hate to Love: My Sales Story

After leaving a rehab facility, my self-esteem was at an all-time low. I was terrified of doing drugs again. And the only distraction I had was my job at a car dealership. 

So, to stay clean, I fully committed to learning about sales

Then, something interesting happened… 

I began getting results right away. Of course you start to like something you’re winning at. 


At the same time, I started to understand why I had disliked sales so much before. 

It all came full circle when I took a step back and analyzed what was being taught…

All these old school sales methods relied on:

  • Manipulative “Mirroring” techniques… 
  • Being vague about price…
  • Not answering customer questions over the phone…

I don’t know about you, but those strategies seemed dishonest to me. No wonder salespeople had such a bad rap! 

That’s when your Uncle G decided to change the game of sales forever… 

Showing Others the Light About Sales

The fact of the matter is you don’t like sales for two reasons…

Number one: you don’t know enough about selling. 

Or, number two: you’re an honest person who disagrees with the slimy reputation and approach to selling which has been perpetuated over the years. 

And by the way, neither is your fault. 

Nevertheless, it’s a shame this skill you need to get anywhere in life — more revenue, a promotion, the guy or girl you want to take out — is so demonized. 

Sales Saved My Life

And I want to teach others who might be struggling like I was to learn how to do it the right way. 

That is exactly why I removed the trickery, added transparency, and kept only what worked for an effective sales cycle. Then, I took all my methods and developed the most complex sales training platform in the game, Cardone University

In the end, although I hated sales, I came to love the craft because I saw how it changes lives

To resist sales is to resist what will get you what you dream and deserve to have.
