As a 10X Hub entrepreneur, Pozisa Mkapuza doesn’t consider slowing down or giving up an option. Even the name of her company reflects her mindset: Vuk’uzenzele — which means “get up and do something about life.” With this positive attitude and a few tools, Pozisa’s perfume business is coming up roses… 

Born in the Eastern Cape and raised without either of her parents, 32-year-old Mkapuza was determined to make something of her life. 

Despite struggling in school, she graduated and went to live with her aunt in the larger Western Cape area. 

Afterwards, Pozisa took a job as a cleaner at a local store. However, the proprietor saw her work ethic, which moved her up the ranks. 

Her knack for selling transitioned her from cashier to earning commission on clothes. Then, one fateful day, everything changed when a woman presented the opportunity of selling perfume…

From the moment our go-getter smelled and used perfume for the first time, she saw the change it made in how a person feels about themselves. 

Immediately, Mkapuza left her commission job to sell fragrances. 

Still, her inexperience with costs, budgeting, and other business fundamentals almost shut Vuk’uzenzele down.
