I had to learn the hard way to NEVER get this advice from a friend…
For that reason, I often advise fellow empire builders to “seek their own counsel”.
This means you shouldn’t “crowd-source” advice from your friends, family members, or worst of all:
Your social media connections.
It doesn’t matter if you want a second opinion on your career, financial situation, kids, health, or even your relationship.
You should never get advice from a friend about that. Why?
Well, let’s say you and your partner disagree with one of his female co-workers.
You’ve been feeling insecure about the praise he’s been heaping on her lately…
Even though their relationship is 100% professional.
And even though your partner is a great guy who would never look twice (romantically) at another woman.
So you spend an evening fighting about your partner’s female co-worker.
What do you think would happen if you gathered a group of girlfriends together…
You drank a few glasses of wine…
Then you started ranting and raving about how your partner has been gushing about his female colleague?
Of course, your friends will take your side. That’s what friends are for.
And of course, they’ll make you feel better in the moment.
But here’s the problem: when you air your dirty laundry this way…
You risk creating “bad press” about your partner. And the trouble with bad press is…
It’s sticky.
It’s so sticky… your partner will likely struggle to shake his bad reputation long after you’ve gotten over your disagreement.
And your friends will likely gossip about your “terrible” partner months (or even years) later.
Which is a surefire way to sabotage your empire and weaken your relationship.
And that’s why I often advise fellow empire builders to “seek their own counsel” – with just one exception.
If you and your partner have an issue…
Whether it’s a relationship issue…
A health issue…
A financial issue, etc…
And if you’ve sought your own counsel but are still hitting a brick wall…
Then – and only then – would I encourage you to seek outside advice? But you mustn’t take just any outside advice. No.
You must get advice ONLY from legitimate experts in your problem area. Experts with proven experience…
With a great reputation…
And with measurable results that back up their reputation.
So that you don’t get trapped in a costly “blind leading the blind” situation like most people.
Now, when you’re playing at a higher level…
And when you’re building an empire… it isn’t always easy to find trustworthy experts with proven results in your problem area.
Because the path we’re walking is NOT the normal path. And very few people have real-life experience in building an empire.
So it can be a struggle to find the effective counsel you need, precisely at the moment you need it.
This is one of the reasons why, every year, I run an event called 10X Ladies.
It’s exclusively for ambitious, powerhouse women – like you – who want to connect with high-level players and big thinkers.
It’s a great opportunity for you to fill your Rolodex with contacts you can trust…
Then, whenever you need solid-gold advice on elevating your business, your career, your finances, your mindset, and your relationship…
You can pick up your phone…
And dial their number right away.
The women who come to my event aren’t your average people.
They’re women who are already living the life you’re dreaming of. And who knows the right answers to your most burning questions?
Do you think hanging out with a group like this could help you take your life and business to the next level?
If so, I encourage you to join me at 10X Ladies.

Build an empire,
Elena Cardone
