The project, which has been in the works for over 10 years, is not the first of its kind. In reality, AR glasses have faced a long and tumultuous road, with many glasses not succeeding due to the same issues:
- The glasses were too hot
- The weight of the glasses was uncomfortable for users
- The visuals were low-resolution
- And the field-of-view for the images was too small
All in all, the AR glasses of the past failed to deliver on the promise of the product.
Luckily, Meta has been quietly working to overcome these barriers in glasses.
