Most people think that when you make it, it happens all at once. I hate to be the one to tell you that’s not how it works. The only way to the top is the grind. This is the story of my real “overnight success.”
First of all, there is no such thing as real overnight success — no matter how it seems. I guarantee that one action that seemed to catapult someone is the sum of many actions and lots of hard work.
So, what did I give up while on the grind?
While my friends were out partying, I was calling on clients, studying sales, and making myself known. I missed out on a lot of experiences.
However, this shouldn’t discourage you. Now, I can afford to do those things first class. The richer experience is worth the wait.
Pay the price now, so you can pay any price later.
Are you willing to pay that price? And even if you are, are you willing to take the hard knocks along the way?
On the grind to real overnight success, you WILL fail
Aside from the lost experiences, there are the failures. These failures ain’t scrapes on the knee either.
On my way to “overnight success,” I’ve lost friends. I’ve been betrayed. I’ve been sued.
All the above would have been valid excuses to quit. But at the end of the day, they would have still been excuses.
The point of me writing this is simple.
Don’t quit. You owe it to yourself and your family to keep pushing through whatever you’re going through right now.
It might seem that success comes easily to other people and it passes over you. That is simply not true.
Keep grinding towards your own “overnight success.”
The only way you’ll fail is if you give up.
Be Great,
