If you are having trouble showing up every day and want to overcome your consistency struggles, let me tell you my story…
Look, at some point in our lives, we all were challenged with consistency struggles.
Whether it’s getting up at the same time each morning, sticking to a workout schedule, or always showing up to work as our best selves, we all have dealt with inconsistencies.
One day we wake up ready to conquer the world, and the next, we feel like we have no idea what to do.
About 12-13 years ago, I started experiencing days where I had no intention of doing anything on a particular day. It wasn’t every day, but it was enough to where I noticed a pattern.
I became bored with things. When people would ask me what was wrong, I couldn’t explain it. By 25, I was sitting in this depressive state almost every day.
Finally, I ended up in a treatment center for my drug use, and my life was upside down. One day, my counselor suggested that I couldn’t think big or even dream about becoming rich and famous.
I told myself I wanted to show him and everyone I’ll make it. And I did.
The secret to eliminating consistency struggles
To become a master of this thing called consistency, you need to throw yourself entirely into something that you can measure, influence, and move.
When I was 25, I hated sales, and I had to get out of my comfort zone if I was going to make it. So, I threw myself into sales calls and meetings, greeted people consistently, and did thousands of presentations. I remember listening to a tape for sales training, and I listened to that thing over and over again.
At some point, I got used to it. Sales became second nature to me.
I went from hating something and not being good at it to becoming an expert in my industry.
Don’t sell yourself on false beliefs
Suppose you continue to sell yourself on the idea that you can’t do something. In that case, you will have difficulty overcoming your consistency struggles.
You have to do whatever it takes to get where you want to go. Hold yourself accountable for it.
Repeat these 10X thoughts and actions every day. Down the line, you’ll see that consistency won’t be a problem anymore.
