It’s been a long road to get where I’m at today.
You may have run into me 35 minutes ago or 35 years ago.
You may think I’ve got it made. Maybe you think, “He’s the guy with the Jet. He’s the guy with the real estate. He’s the guy that’s got all the money.”
But it’s been a very, very long road getting here. It’s been 35 years of grinding, pushing, and shoving.
I went into debt. I’ve invested money that I didn’t have. I got great at a job I hated. I’ve thrown myself into the face of rejection tens of thousands of times.
So… it hurts.
Anybody can do 1X or 2X. To get to 10X, you’ve got to blow the roof off the top.
You have to go through some stuff.
I’ve been disappointed by deals that never happened. I’ve had customers that never paid. My buddies had kids going into college and I hadn’t even found my wife yet.
I was paying the price. I always say this, “Pay the price today so you can pay any price in the Future.” Pay the price now.
I traveled millions of miles on commercial airlines in middle-row coach seats.
I’ve been ridiculed by my peers and by competition. I’ve had people tell me, “Hey you market too much you. You are too aggressive.”
People have judged me for working too much. Wanting too much. Doing too much.
But do you know who’s never judged me for working too much?
My wife Elena.
Not one time has she ever said, “You work too much.”
Not one time has she asked me why I’m getting home so late. She knows what I’m doing.
I’m closing deals. I’m taking care of my family. And I’m doing what it takes to get to 10X.
I’ve been paying the price for 35 years.
This is the secret of successful people. This is what I’ve committed my life to do.
I told my mom when I was 16 years old, “One day I’m going to be successful. One day I’m going to be successful and I’m going to help a lot of people.”
My legacy will not be the money. It won’t be the plane. It won’t be the car I drive.
My legacy is my family. And my legacy is the people I’ve helped.
You give me an opportunity to do what I should be doing. Take care of my family and help other people.
For that, I’m thankful.
