Environmentally Friendly Cosmetics

I believe it is important to protect and preserve our planet. We live here, after all. So, I was excited to learn that one of the biggest brands in the world, L’Oreal is investing in environmentally friendly cosmetics. This is what this partnership means…

Furthering Initiatives to Erase Animal Testing

L’Oreal is a global brand that has existed for over 100 years. Since they are a worldwide company, laws in other countries prevent them from becoming an entirely cruelty-free brand.

It is an issue they address on their official site and social media regularly.

However, the massive corporation’s recent investment in the biotech company, Debut, could help change that.

Debut is developing a cell-free process for testing and manufacturing environmentally friendly cosmetics. But the planetary impact of this is not limited to protecting animals…

More Ingredients = More Environmentally Friendly Cosmetics

L’Oreal providing capital to Debut has them the status of exclusive industry partner.

BUT, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

In simple terms, it means that L’Oreal has sole rights to the biotech firm’s portfolio of over 7,000 ingredients. These eco-smart ingredients can be used in:

  • Beauty products
  • Anti-aging formulas
  • Skin Care
  • And, packaging.

Then L’Oreal could bring environmentally friendly cosmetics — from the cartons to the contents inside — to the market. And do it fast.

All in all, this is very exciting news for the beauty industry, science, and consumers alike. Everyone wins.  I love seeing a strong example of a mega-brand using their empire’s power to do good.

Build an Empire,
