When I sat down with Donald Trump at 10X Growth Conference 2022, one of the topics we covered was how to handle criticism like a pro.
Yes, he is a real estate mogul. Yes, he’s a master in personal branding. And yes, he served as the 45th president of the United States.
But the thing I admire the most about Donald Trump is that he knows exactly how to handle criticism.
Donald Trump doesn’t let criticism get to him
When I interviewed Donald Trump, he revealed how he succeeds in handling criticism so well.
It’s all in the mindset.
“The better way is to just let it go off your back.”
Now, I know that’s easier said than done.
Even Trump himself admitted how he struggled with this back in the day.
“15 years ago, if I got a little bad article, it would drive me crazy… today, I couldn’t do that.”
This goes to show that what bothers you now won’t in the future. Also, keep in mind that when you get to the top, the criticism and the hate will always come from people who’re jealous of what you’ve accomplished.
If nobody hates, nobody knows you.
People that have quit on their dreams will try to convince you to do the same.
Haters will hate
Remember that there has never been a successful person who hasn’t been underestimated or hated.
Throughout my life, I‘ve found it impossible to be productive and critical at the same time. I don’t have time to criticize you, and I wonder how you find time to criticize me.
Additionally, I’ve never improved my situation by critiquing another. So, I have made it a policy to leave that to others.
Let the haters hate — just keep making money and helping people!
