8 Reasons to Change Your Business Phone Service – Part 5
There are only 8 reasons a business owner would make a change their business phone system and this article covers the 5th reason.
The first reason is: Hardware or Software Failure
The second reason is: Office Move
The third reason is: Contract, Circuit, or Maintenance Renewal
The fourth reason is: Growth, Expansion, Multi-Location
The fifth reason is: Capacity
In more than 15 years in business, I’ve seen it happen over and over again. A business hires a couple of new employees that start on Monday and they realize the Friday before that they don’t have any phones available for them. What’s worse… they’re in sales.
Many legacy PBX (public branch exchange) phone systems are typically housed in a business office in a phone closet. They vary in capacity, 8, 16, 32, 64 phones, etc. When buying one of these systems, the conservative owner, would error on the side of caution and plan for minimal growth, and often, exceed the system capacity in just a couple of years, requiring a complete replacement, which can be expensive. The other option, at times, is to add more capacity, buy another module, add another card, another unit, etc. This also is an expensive solution as you are continuing to invest in a depreciating asset, and of course, the support costs aren’t going down.
A hosted solution eliminates the problem of not having enough capacity because you aren’t limited to the number of phones or number of lines you have, etc. A cloud based phone system doesn’t have capacity limitations. You can add more phones as needed as you grow.
The best solution is to leverage a system that is hosted; one that will allow you to grow your business, expand your staff, and add more customers without the threat of an outage, expensive maintenance, and technical obsolescence. With a hosted system, phone calls are routed over the Internet and the service provider typically has a highly available, geographically redundant hardware and server infrastructure. This means that you don’t have to worry about hardware or software failure, maintenance updates or upgrades, and internet circuit or phone line outages. You can focus on hyper-growing your business.
