Your attitude is your #1 asset. Whatever talent or product you offer to the world can be found by somebody else. A great attitude makes other people–and yourself–feel good. That’s something that is hard to come by in a world full of bad news. You need a daily attitude workout to maintain this quality.
Staying positive is like a muscle. Just like your biceps or abs, you have to train yourself to be positive every day, otherwise, you’ll start to lose your positive mindset. Here are a few positivity exercises you can do each day to keep your great attitude strong.
Positive Attitude Workout Playlist
This isn’t exactly like a playlist you would have while physically working out, but the idea is similar. The first thing you should look at is the type of content you are consuming.
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Am I hearing more bad news than good news?
- Do I feel bad after watching or listening to “X”?
- Am I drained after being around certain people?
It is impossible to put positivity out if you’re constantly pouring garbage in. Start only consuming media that either educates or improves your mood. That’s the playlist for success.
Language Exercise
Next, you have to use ONLY positive language. This point is probably the hardest one for people to do. How you act towards others is how they will act towards you. That is determined by how you communicate with them.
By the way, you may have to practice only using positive language in a mirror first. That way you can make sure your expression matches your words. You want to be smiling and genuine.
Have Workout Partners
Last, the idea that opposites attract is totally ridiculous. In my experience, like attracts like. This is especially true when it comes to having a great attitude.
You should have a short positive meeting with some friends or family every day and share only good news and things that are going right. This is also a great opportunity to practice the language exercise mentioned above with a partner and improve how you respond.
In conclusion, what I am trying to tell you is that with a positive attitude, you can get everything and anything you want. A beaming person who makes everyone around them feel good is hard to find. There are a lot of factors working against you. But doing this daily attitude workout will put you leagues ahead of the game.
Be great and positive.
