Chicken Big Mac

To gain a new edge in the never-ending fast food wars, McDonald’s is introducing a new version of a fan favorite item: the Chicken Big Mac.

But what does this new menu item actually reveal about the company?

Why The Chicken Big Mac?

Starting October 10th, the chicken Big Mac will be available in McDonald’s across the country for a limited time.

The burger essentially stays the same with the major difference lying in the replacement of the beef patty with what fans are calling “a giant chicken nugget.”

While the difference sounds unremarkable, in the UK, where the sandwich had a trial run…

IT SOLD OUT IN 10 DAYS MAKING IT ONE OF THE COMPANY’S MOST SUCCESSFUL SANDWICH LAUNCHES EVER.

But bringing a chicken Big Mac to the US is not a surprising move on the company’s behalf. In fact, McDonald’s has been steering towards chicken as an ‘innovative choice’ for a while…

But why chicken? The answer is a simple one:

CHICKEN IS JUST CHEAPER THAN BEEF.

And when it comes to sales in stores, chicken sells just as much as beef.

This year, fast food companies have been taking major losses as customers pull back on spending, with McDonald’s having to make up for slumped sales

Leading many of them to launch new value deals to get hungry diners back in the drive-thru.

Hopefully, the chicken Big Mac will send sales flying high for the golden arches.

Be Great,
