Dos Hombres

After 7 years of development, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul went into business together. Not in illicit substances like their TV characters, but as co-founders of Dos Hombres, an award-winning mezcal company.

How Dos Hombres Got Its Start

The brain-child of Aaron Paul, Dos Hombres is a labor of love for the two actors.

Cranston and Paul became close friends during the filming of “Breaking Bad.” And before you think their new business is a celebrity cash grab…

It was actually created as a way for the two to stay in touch.

The pair confessed that the project, which got its start over a sushi dinner, was an excuse to keep working on something together

Cranston has mentioned that they would only go into business together if the two were extremely passionate about the project.

Cranston went on to explain,

“WE DON’T NEED JOBS. I DON’T WANT A JOB. A JOB FEELS AWFUL. BUT WE LOVE TO WORK, AND I ONLY WANT TO TAKE ON PROJECTS IN MY ACTING CAREER, PRODUCING CAREER, SPIRITS CAREER IF I AM FULLY ENGAGED AND LOVE THE PRODUCT,”

Their journey started when traveling through Mexico trying to find the perfect chemistry for their passion project

They visited over 100 mezcal operations before landing on their ideal taste in a town three hours from Oaxaca.

Breaking (Bad) Into The Mezcal Business.

Mezcal has become one of the most popular spirits on the market, and it was labeled the fastest-growing spirit from 2020 to 2021.

In its second year, Dos Hombres was in the top ten mezcal sales, and in its third year, it made the top 5

THE CO-STAR CO-FOUNDERS FULLY SELF-FUNDED THEIR INITIATIVE AND BUILT it FROM THE GROUND UP.

They didn’t want their mezcal to be another instance of a celebrity selling their likeness to an existing brand just to get a check in the mail.

With the celebrity liquor business exploding in recent years, the duo wanted to do the work right.

Both Cranston and Paul have been heavily involved in the development of their company. Beyond their road trip to find the perfect mezcal, the duo hired everyone on their team personally.

They visit the town where their mezcal is distilled once a year and reinvest funds from their sales into the community. So far, they’ve added a water-filtration system and roads, and eventually, they plan for a medical facility

Their head mezcalero, Gregorio Velasco, was given part ownership in the company

Dos Hombres Looking Forward

All of Cranston and Paul’s efforts have created a notorious liquor brand, landing them twelve mezcal and spirit awards. Now, they spend their days creating specialty cocktails in hotels, restaurants, parties, and even Costco’s

Making a splash with their joint venture, it is safe to say that Dos Hombres went from a way to spend time with a friend…

To be a best-selling product in an in-demand industry.
