AI Flight Delays

Everyone hates flight delays… but now, there is a new AI software that is here to help! And, it’s not only saving passengers time, but it’s also saving airlines MONEY!

A recent news piece by CNBC detailed how JetBlue is successfully using a weather-tracking artificial intelligence program.

The air travel company invested in space and tech firm, Tomorrow.io, to develop their revolutionary AI climate tracker.

THEY APPROPRIATELY NAMED IT GALE.

Now that JetBlue has been using GALE for over a year, how does it work and affect the airline’s profitability?

New AI Predicts Flight Delays with Razor-Sharp Accuracy

As we previously discussed, Tomorrow.io is a SPACE technology company. So, they have access to specific resources that make foreseeing flight delays with AI possible.

NAMELY, A NETWORK OF ADVANCED SATELLITES.

However, it takes more than that for GALE to ascertain weather conditions down to the specific airport runway…

Alongside satellites, the artificial intelligence software uses:

  1. Sensors placed on aircraft.
  2. Drones over various zip codes.
  3. And even cars that report using their windshield wipers!

Put that all together and you have AI that prevents flight delays more efficiently than ever

Tomorrow.io’s mission is to more accurately predict the weather as it becomes more severe with climate change.

Then, the company saw a lack of tech that could anticipate conditions that create injury-causing turbulence.

But, how does JetBlue feel about its investment?

Airline Biz Already Seeing STELLAR Results

The airline industry is just like any other, and time is money…

AND THERE IS NO OTHER BUSINESS THAT EXEMPLIFIES, “TIME IS MONEY,” MORE THAN AIR TRAVEL!

JetBlue says that since using GALE, they have saved $300K a month, and $3.7 MILLION over the past year.

With those results, it’s reasonable to speculate that more airlines will adopt similar AI to prevent flight delays soon.
