Shark Tank Success

On Day 2 of 10X Growth Con, I sat down with Robert Herjavec for an exclusive fireside discussion. But I had to know which the “Shark Tank” star thought was more important — success or money.

Since this was not my first interview with him, we only briefly touched on Robert Herjavec’s story. For that reason, we turned the conversation to business, capital, and success

So, I asked…

IS IT MORE IMPORTANT TO HAVE MONEY OR HAVE SUCCESS?

Herjavec’s short answer is BOTH

However, the celebrity investor wanted to make it clear that the one you should focus on depends on what stage you are in your career…

Robert Herjavec on MONEY

For those starting out, the Shark encouraged entrepreneurs to prioritize building their capital.

“HERE’S THE BEAUTY OF CAPITAL… IT GROWS. IT BUILDS ON ITSELF. SO ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN DO TO GET A REGULAR INCOME STREAM THAT YOU CAN BUILD INTO CAPITAL IS GOLD.”

Additionally, Herjavec shared with me sentiments about big goals and the hustle. As an immigrant, Robert had to learn at an early age that if you’re hard on yourself, life gets easier.

Because of that, the TV personality also acknowledges the importance of small victories along the way…

OG of “Shark Tank” talks SUCCESS

Later in our conversation, I turned my questions to Robert Herjavec’s opinion of success.

The “Shark Tank” star’s view of success is that it never gets easier because “your goals get harder.” That is why he believes that discipline and success go hand in hand

In his case, Herjavec runs every day — even though there are days he doesn’t want to.

“SOME DAYS, THAT IS THE GREATEST THING I’VE DONE THAT DAY AND THAT’S A WIN… AND SOME DAYS, I REALLY NEED A FREAKING WIN.”

Nevertheless, the “Nice Shark” had a final message he wanted to impart before he left the 10X Growth Con stage…

“It Amplifies Who You Are”

In the debate of success versus money, Robert Herjavec says there is a time and place for both…

But he has this asterisk to that statement.

“I don’t think great money or great wealth changes who you are. It simply amplifies who you are.”

I couldn’t think of a better note to conclude this article on.
