What better way to close day two of 10X Growth Conference 2022 than with a speaker who has helped produce half a TRILLION dollars?
Lloyd Blankfein served as the Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs for 12 years. During this time, he assisted the second largest investment bank in the world in acquiring nearly $500 billion in revenue — that’s half a trillion.
With these facts in mind, it’s easy to see why Blankfein is one of the most sought-after financial experts on the planet.
And at 10X Growth Conference 2022, he shared invaluable insights on leadership, economics, and navigating a financial crisis.
Lloyd Blankfein: “The world favors risk-takers.”
Blankfein came from public housing in Brooklyn, New York. Though he didn’t get into a lot of the colleges he applied to, he did get into Harvard. With a full scholarship.
Later on, he took a job as a trader as a smaller company. Through persistence, this job put him in the ecosystem where he was able to become recognized for his skills by Goldman Sachs.
He went on to become the CEO and Chairman of the organization through some of the most trying economic times in the United States.
Blankfein never shied away from taking risks and capitalizing on them. After the 9/11 attacks, during his time leading Goldman Sachs, the investment bank did one of the first trades when the stock market reopened.
Another example is taking Elon Musk’s Tesla public when the company had yet to be profitable.
“There’s a Million stories, and they matter.”
— Lloyd Blankfein on assessing companies for investment
This is the 10X knowledge you get from a finance genius that ‘TIME’ Magazine named one of the “Most Influential People in the World” — twice.
