GoFundMe is introducing new ways for Gen Z to donate, ushering in a new generation of philanthropists. Thanks to new partnerships, the for-profit company makes donations accessible to untapped audiences…
Here’s what’s getting an update.
New Features Make It Easier To Donate To GoFundMe
GoFundMe is the largest platform for online donating and fundraising.
SINCE 2010, THE COMPANY HAS RAISED OVER $30 BILLION FOR DIFFERENT INDIVIDUAL CAUSES.
The website allows people to create fundraising campaigns for everyday necessities…
Or emergencies, like an unexpected surgery.
The plus side is that anyone can donate to a GoFundMe campaign.
But now, the company is trying to get Gen Z’s attention.
According to GoFundMe…
GEN Z IS MORE LIKELY THAN OTHER GENERATIONS TO DONATE TO AND SHARE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS.
To accommodate the needs of this new generation of fundraisers…
GoFundMe is launching new features across social media to make it easier for 18-to 26-year-olds to donate.
In a new partnership with Meta, GoFundMe pages will be seamlessly integrated into Instagram stories to promote sharing. Along with that, these pages will have a design that helps them stand out against the competition.
Not to mention, influencers still reign supreme on these sites…
So having someone with a platform share a GoFundMe page will encourage others to donate much more easily.
Other Corners Of The Internet…
GoFundMe wants to make it simple to donate to different causes and make it easy to share those causes.
One of the new features to accomplish this involves personalized user profiles on the company’s website. These new profiles will let users customize what causes they care about and what pages they have already donated to on GoFundMe.
The goal of this new feature is to encourage others to donate on GoFundMe by sharing other users’ charitable efforts.
GoFundMe CEO, Tim Cadogan has big ambitions for this new chapter in online giving, saying…
“WE HOPE THAT OVER TIME THAT BECOMES THE PLACE ON THE INTERNET THAT YOU EXPRESS YOUR ALTRUISTIC SIDE OF YOUR IDENTITY,”
As more and more young people look to be givers…
Hopefully, this new shift will inspire a generation of digital-first philanthropists.
Be Great,
