Fellow 10X’er…

Not sure if you saw this in the news…

I hope not because I don’t recommend wasting much time on the news.

Most of it is garbage.

But someone told me about this news story.

And it made me want to write to you today.

It happened in Brooklyn…

This past Monday, a young man named Matthew Webb was working at a McDonald’s.

Apparently, a customer began hassling Matthew.  

She was upset over… cold french fries.  Really?

Anyway, while she was arguing with Matthew, she was also FaceTiming her son.

Her son soon showed up and stormed into the restaurant.  And he began hassling Matthew too.

So, they all took it outside, which was a mistake.

And that’s when the son – allegedly – shot Matthew in the neck.

Over cold french fries!

Matthew was rushed to the hospital, fighting for his life.  

And this morning, he was pronounced dead.

It’s such a tragedy.

And it hits home to me for a lot of reasons.

One of them is that I, myself, was on the wrong path as a young man myself.

Not that I would have done anything like this, of course.

But what I’ve noticed is this…

Most people allow themselves to live smaller lives than they should.

They get mired down in petty things.  And they let something silly derail their lives.

I hope that’s not you.

I hope you have a bigger vision for your life.  And the courage to take action and make that vision come to life.

You have a responsibility to yourself and to your loved ones to make the very best of the life you’ve been given.
