Grant considers Matt Manero, the owner of Commercial Fleet Financing, a personal friend as they both came from rough beginnings, losing their fathers at a young age, and working their way up through the entrepreneurial life to reach to the top tier of business. Matt funded his own business that is now bringing in over 100 million dollars per year! Christian, one of Matt’s employees, introduced him to Grant’s work through The 10X Rule audiobook. He’s been operating with it since, which has been about one-and-a-half years. He said, “it was like pouring jet fuel on it.” His family was comprised of blue-collar workers, immigrants from Ireland, showing up to work early and staying late—which influenced his youth strongly. He graduated with a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management, got a job with Hilton Hotels and they teach him how to sell. He floated around for a while, looking for a road map, the right vehicle to follow. He ended up with a fleet financing company and after helping to open a new location he realized he could do it on his own. He started his company 20 years ago, when he was 25, with a single chair, a table and a phone book. Matt’s Tip: Stay out of false positive. You have aren’t being bugged by collectors, you can take your wife to dinner, you have money in your pocket; that’s a ‘false positive’.
