Grant speaks with people that have moved to power in their space and have generously given their time to speak to you about what they do. Idil “Idillionaire” Ahmed was born in Somalia, and moved to the US around the age of 3. By the age of 19 she was already earning money in marketing. She has a book on Amazon, “Getting Out of Your Way”.
While in Somalia, her father dealt with import and export with Germany, which exposed her to commerce at a young age. Once she started college she realized she could do business on her own, without ‘proper’ school instructions, so she started her own jewelry business while attending college. Soon she began to understand business margins by purchasing wholesale and selling retail. She then realized she needed to build a customer base, which got her into social media.
Her passion comes from living life to the fullest and doing things for the experience, from the discovering new outlets to accomplishing the tasks she set for herself. She never feels like the accomplishments are that big though simply because she is constantly moving forward. She doesn’t dwell on the successes, she looks into the future and focuses on what she has yet to accomplish.

Idil’s Biggest Mistake: In the beginning, she didn’t know how to adapt to the ever-changing style of Twitter and other social media outlets. She learned to change her point of view from just branding herself ON a platform to branding herself THROUGH the platform by learning the business model of Twitter and following the purpose of their platform changes.
