Today, I want to share a success story from one of my students, David P.
I started my life over in 2016, got back into real estate with a few crumbs of money.
I started to flip homes.
After 45 flips, I ran into Grant in San Jose, California in 2020.
He was funny, down to earth, fired up, and super motivated to be a billionaire.
That rubbed off on me and for the first time in my life, I said to myself: “I can learn from this man!”
I started following Grant, listening to him on YouTube.
At first, I was like, “Ok, what is the catch?”
But the more I listened…
The more I realized how honest, straightforward, and informed all the words that Grant was saying were. They meant something of value.
So then COVID hit.
I sold a duplex, took a big leap of faith, and purchased my first 16-unit apartment complex.
All I heard was Grant Cardone: “16 units, then 32 units, then scale up 50 to 100 units.”
In my mind, I heard: “16 units, 16 units, 16 units.”
This was way out of my comfort zone.
I closed the deal and the mandatory rent freeze hit.
8 out of 16 tenants stopped paying rent.
Again, listening to Grant… “Sacrifice everything now to pay for anything you want in the future.”
I gave up my $3,500-a-month apartment in downtown San Diego, so I can pay my new mortgage on the 16 units…
So that I covered my mortgage and the 8 tenants could live there for free.
That went on for 1 year until they started giving rental assistance.
Then, after remodeling and increasing rents from 1/1 $650 to $1,100 a month… and my 2/1 went from $800 to $1,500…
It was a game-changer.
I was then able to cash out, refinance and purchase the 16-unit next door…
Giving me a 32-unit apartment complex.
All because I started to listen, follow, and study 1 man.
