What happens when you put an award-winning business connoisseur at the helm of a tech giant? Revenue skyrockets to more than $91.9 billion. This is the story of Kevin Turner, the chief executive who has transformed brands like Microsoft, Sam’s Club, and Walmart…

For more than 30 years, Kevin Turner has occupied C-level seats at some of the biggest companies in the world.

Under Turner’s leadership, Microsoft witnessed explosive growth. Walmart employees benefitted from state-of-the-art mobile computing. Sam’s Club’s operating profit dominated the competition.

Over the years, Kevin Turner has received countless awards and honors in business. First ever recipient of the Sam M. Walton Entrepreneur of the Year Award, CIO 100 Award, #4 Most Influential 40 Under 40 — just to name a few.

However, the numbers Turner generated speak even louder than his accolades.

Kevin Turner Grew Microsoft Revenue by 131% — from $39.7 Billion to $91.9+ Billion

Between 2005 and 2016, Kevin served as Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft Corporation.

During his time as COO, he was in charge of operations in 191 countries, with more than 70,000 employees.

Even more impressive is the multifaceted growth he championed at Microsoft. Not only did he propel revenue from $39.7 billion to more than $91.9 billion, but he also increased operating income by 92%.

Simultaneously, Turner achieved the highest employee and customer satisfaction scores in the history of the company.

But before making a massive impact at Microsoft, Kevin Turner left his mark on the most well-known big-box retailer…

The Road to Success: Cashier to Youngest Corporate Officer

In 1985, Kevin was a college student working full-time at Walmart while pursuing a degree in management.

Although he started as a cashier, he quickly climbed the corporate ladder. At age 29, he became the youngest ever corporate officer in Walmart history.

Kevin Turner would go on to spend almost two decades with the major retailer. Among his numerous leadership titles within the corporation, he served as Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President of Walmart, but also Chief Executive Officer and President of Sam’s Club.

Here, Turner’s leadership also produced a multi-billion-dollar revenue growth. In addition to being directly responsible for $39.76 billion in revenue, he also had 125,000 team members under his guidance.
